Zahlreiche unserer Smartphones werden durch einen Prozessor aus dem Hause Qualcomm befeuert. Für jeden Leistunsbereich hat Qualcomm hier entsprechende Produkte bereit. Nun hat man aber die neue Snapdragon 700er Prozessor-Serie offiziell vorgestellt.
Diese soll die „große Kluft“ zwischen der 600er Serie und 800er Serie schließen. Laut Qualcomm ist die Snapdragon 700er Serie deutlich effizienter und leistungsfähiger als z.B. ein Snapdragon 660 und soll zusätzlich noch KI-Funktionen bekommen, welche man aus der 800er Reihe kennt. Schnelles Wlan und LTE sowie erweitere Funktionen von Bluetooth 5 soll die neue Generation an Prozessoren ebenfalls auszeichnen. Ebenso wird QuickCharge 4+ unterstützt. Wie viele Prozessoren letztlich aus der 700er Serie entstehen werden, bleibt abzuwarten. Hier will Qualcomm die kommenden Wochen weitere Details bekanntgeben.

- Performance and Battery: The Snapdragon 700 Series will debut new architectures across the mobile platform, including Qualcomm Spectra ISP, Kryo CPU and Adreno Visual Processing subsystem, which will offer up to 30% improvements in power efficiency, and better performance and battery life across numerous applications compared to the Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform. 700 Series products will also benefit from Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 4+ technology, engineered to get up to 50% charge in only 15 minutes*.
- Connectivity: The Snapdragon 700 Tier will feature an advanced suite of wireless technologies with ultra-fast LTE, carrier Wi-Fi features, as well as enhanced Bluetooth 5.
Erste Geräte mit der 700er Prozessor-Serie sollen im 2.Quartal 2018 erscheinen.
