[Fix] Surface Pro 3 Akku Problem wird mit einem Firmware Update behoben

Microsoft hatte lange damit zu kämpfen, dass der Akku vom Surface Pro 3 sich sehr schnell entladen, bzw. sich nicht voll aufgeladen hat. Viele hatten schon eine neue Batterie gekauft, aber auch da traten diese Probleme auf. Auch gab es schon einige Versuche Seitens Microsoft dieses Problem zu beheben.

Jetzt hat Microsoft das Surface Pro Embedded Controller Firmware-Update v38.10.90.0 zum Download bereitgestellt.

Das Surface Pro 3 sollte mit dem Ladekabel angeschlossen sein und der Akku noch mindestens 40%. Dann kann man über Windows Update nach dem neuen Firmware suchen und installieren.

Microsoft betont, dass es aber noch einige Ladezyklen braucht, bis die Symptome verschwinden.

In der Changelog heisst es:

"
v38.10.90.0 corrects an error that may occur on a limited number of Surface Pro 3 devices where the full charge capacity of the battery is misreported to the operating system and device firmware. This update corrects the firmware component that functions as a „fuel gauge“ so that the battery capacity is accurately reported. See Surface Pro 3 Battery FAQ for the 8/29/2016 System Firmware Update for more information."
