Hat man auf dem Sperrbildschirm die Anzeige von Nachrichten, Telefonanrufen etc. aktiviert, dann bekommt man unter der Uhr auf dem Bildschirm diese mit einer Zahl angezeigt. Es bleibt jetzt nur entweder das Info-Center auszuklappen, oder die jeweilige Anwendung nach dem entsperren des Sperrbildschirms zu starten.
Microsoft hat nun ein Patent beim United States Patent and Trademark Office eingereicht, welches zeigt, dass man es auch anders gestalten kann, ohne das Handy erst entsperren zu müssen.
So lassen sich die jeweiligen Nachrichten bei hochgeschobenen Sperrbildschirm anzeigen. Mit diesem Patent will Microsoft sich scheinbar nur die Funktion als solches sichern. Denn diese Meldungen bekommt man im Windows Phone durch das Info-Center schon angezeigt.
Spekulativ könnte man auch denken, dass Microsoft das Info-Center mit dem Sperrbildschirm verbinden möchte. Was meint ihr?
"In the past, notifications (also termed “badges”), have given users a quick glance-able summary on their lock screen of information that may be of interest to the users. The notifications have done a decent job of conveying information to users, including a count associated with the notification, but have fallen short in so far as providing an ability to distinguish a more important notification from another notification. This is because all of the notifications tend to be treated the same way–that is, with an icon and a count. Furthermore, for a user to be able to identify a communication associated with a more important notification, the user first has to ascertain which notifications are more important. To do this, particularly from the device’s lock screen, the user has to unlock the screen, go to the start menu, find the particular application associated with the notification, and access the application in order to act on the notification. Over time, this can have the undesirable effect of forcing the user to perform multiple actions in order to simply access an application for which a communication has been received."

Der Sperrbildschirm ist im Vergleich zur Konkurrenz echt ziemlich schlecht. Auf dem Smartphone kann man es durch das Info-Center noch aushalten. Aber auf einem Tablet? Da hat man dann gar nichts.
Interessant. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass die “Erfindungshöhe” dafür ausreicht, dass daraus ein Patent wird. Denn immerhin ist die Idee nicht neu: Sowohl hat iOS das “Message Center” ab Version 5 und davor per Jailbreak, als auch Sailfish die so genannte “Events View”

Und gerade Jolla hat mit Sailfish dieses UI-Layout maßgeblich auf der Basis von MeeGo entwickelt. Das diese Idee toll ist, daran besteht für mich kein Zweifel, aber durchaus daran, dass sie wirklich eine Erfindung von Microsoft ist.
