Mit Windows 10 wird es kein Media Center mehr von Microsoft geben – das hatte man bereits frühzeitig bekanntgegeben. Mittels des Media Center Erweiterungspacks konnte man unter Windows 7 und 8 dieses nutzen. Bereits im Vorfeld des Release von Windows 10 hatte man angegeben eine Alternative zum Media Center bereitzustellen, zumindest zur Wiedergabe des eigenen DVDs. Nachdem seit gestern nun Windows 10 öffentlich verfügbar ist, hat Microsoft nun auch sein neues DVD-Player App bereitgestellt.
Dieses bekommen derzeit aber nur User, welche eben in ihrer Vorgängerversion von Windows, dass Media Center installiert hatten. Automatisch soll das DVD-Player App auf den Rechner landen. Mehr als DVDs abspielen können, soll es aber nicht. In absehbarer Zeit soll das App dann auch im Windows Store verfügbar sein.
