Vor einiger Zeit hat Google es angekündigt, dass auch Android Apps auf dem Chromebook laufen werden. Jetzt ist es soweit. Die ersten vier Apps stehen bereit. Es ist Vine, Evernote, Duolingo und Sights Words.
In den nächsten Monaten will Google mit ausgewählten Entwicklern dann weitere Apps für das Chromebook zur Verfügung stellen.
Wie ein Google-Sprecher Arstecgnica.com sagte, müssen die Apps nicht portiert werden. Wie genau das funktioniert, wurde aber nicht gesagt.

The app code is all running on top of the Chrome platform, specifically inside of Native Client. In this way the ARC (App Runtime for Chrome) apps run in the same environment as other apps you can download from the Chrome Web Store, even though they are written on top of standard Android APIs. The developers do not need to port or modify their code, though they often choose to improve it to work well with the Chromebook form factor (keyboard, touchpad, optional touchscreen, etc).

Einen Unterschied muss es aber geben, da Google sonst schon alle Apps für das Chromebook zur Verfügung stellen könnte.
