Vor zwei Tagen machte die Bemerkung von Marcus Ash (Group Program Manager for Windows Phone) sofort die Runde, dass Microsoft auch an einer Android- und iOS-Version von Cortana arbeiten würde. Wir hatten darüber berichtet.
Heute Nacht (unserer Zeit), hat Marcus Ash dann auf Twitter einiges richtig gestellt.
Die Priorität von Cortana liegt beim Windows Phone. Hier soll Cortana für jeden und auch in vielen sprachen zugänglich gemacht werden. Erst danach wird Microsoft damit beginnen, Cortana auch für Windows zur Verfügung zu stellen und zu optimieren.
Aber was ist mit Android und iOS?
Erst wenn die oben genannten Punkte abgearbeitet sind, könnte Microsoft darüber nachdenken, Cortana auch auf Android und iOS zu bringen.
Ich denke, damit will Microsoft eher ein bisschen Ruhe in die Gemeinde bringen. Den Gedanken selber werden die Jungs wohl schon haben. Denn Cortana Plattformübergreifend wie Office etc. wäre ein Gewinn ohne Grenzen für Microsoft.
Das Hauptaugenmerk ist aber erst einmal Windows Phone. Und das ist auch gut so. Und wie Mark Ash schreibt, werden wir in den nächsten 4 Monaten darüber wohl noch eine Menge berichten können.

6. Only after we execute on #1 – #5 do we consider #Cortana anywhere other than Windows devices which are only thoughts/questions, no plans.
7. Being a challenger in mobile requires us to consider ideas to breakthrough, including leveraging the broadest set of #Windows customers
8. These are future questions/thoughts, the present reality is making #Cortana #WindowsPhone amazing for our current and new customers.
9. Words are nice, only actions matter. Next 4 months of #Cortana on #WindowsPhone will show that we are dead serious about #1 – #3.
