Windows VISTA x64 in VM - Integration ALLER Updates

Die Bereinigung ist wirklich nicht einfach. Tatsächlich kann auch NTlite teilweise mit VISTA umgehen, es könnten aber Fehler auftreten. Die Bearbeitung mit vLite scheitert meist schon im Ansatz, da vLite unter Win10 (Host) äußerst instabil läuft. Ich hatte auch einige Probleme mit "Sysprep", weil der Rearm-Befehl nicht richtig griff. Ich habe also vorerst auf solche Experimente verzichtet.
Die hier verlinkte Version ist ein komplettes VISTA Ultimate, es wurden keine Komponenten entfernt, alle Ultimate-Extras sind integriert, 7z und Firefox 59 ESR sind installiert. Es wurden alle Vista Updates integriert, zusätzlich alle Server2003-Updates nach 2017, auch ESU-Updates für .NET sind drin. Es gibt einen Ordner TOOLS im Root des OS, der hilfreiches enthält.

Installation binnen rd. 15 Minuten in einer Hyper-V VM Gen1. Keine Probleme.

Windows hat noch ein Hotfix Update gefunden: KB981889
Kennt jemand noch eine kostenlose Security Lösung (Virenschutz) für Windows Vista, damit Windows Sicherheitscenter "beruhigt" ist?

Ich meine, neu installiert und Neustart fällig. Bin mir aber nicht mehr 100% sicher.
Manchmal liegt so etwas auch an der Art der Virtualisierung (Hyper-V vs. VMWare vs. VirtualBox).

Okay, Firefox hat sich geklärt: Ich hatte die 64bit-Version von v. 52.9 - die ließ sich nicht installieren (erst ab Win7). Die 32bit-52.9.0 lässt sich auf VISTA installieren, ich passe das an. Komisch, daß ich nie eine Meldung für das Update bekommen habe. Ich teste in VirtualBox v7 und Hyper-V unter Win10.

Aus einem mir nicht erkennbaren Grund bekomme ich keine funktionierende "autounatted.xml" hin. Die Datei wird offenbar nur teilweise verarbeitet, besonders der erste Teil der Installation wird ignoriert (ein späteres Booten in "Audit" funktioniert dann aber). Ich habe jetzt meine ganzen Vorlagen gelöscht, vielleicht mag sich @Holgi mal daran versuchen.

Das Update wird innerhalb weniger Sekunden ohne Probleme und Neustart installiert - es gibt schlimmeres...
Das Update wird übrigens 2x angezeigt, je 1x für Vista und Server 2008. Installiert wird es tatsächlich nur 1x.


Eine aktuelle ISO (nun bei 3,6 GB) folgt noch die Tage.

Der "bewegte Bildschirm" heißt "Dreamscene" und ist mit integriert. Leider kann ich das in einer VM kaum testen, sollte aber funktionieren.

hier meine autounattend.xml für Windows Vista (X86 & X64).
Die Installation lief bei mir damit komplett durch.
Allenfalls beim ersten Start von Windows Vista (also schon im Desktop) wurde (obwohl in der autounattend "<NetworkLocation>Home</NetworkLocation>" angegeben wurde), nochmals nach dem Netzwerkstandort gefragt. Hat irgendwas mit dem Netzwerk- und Freigabecenter zu tun (CLSID {C0DCC3A6-BE26-4bad-9833-61DFACE1A8DB} C:\Windows\system32\netcenter.dll).

was mir noch aufgefallen ist: das MediaCenter schmiert regelmäßig ab, wenn man etwas damit rumspielt.

Vielen Dank! Die "autounattend.xml" teste ich die Tage, heute keine Lust mehr.
"Media Center" habe ich natürlich nicht ausgiebig getestet. Das ist ja irgendwie auch alles EOL.

Die "autounattend.xml" funktioniert gut und läuft durch. Allerdings wird eine Partition zuviel angelegt, die dann als Laufwerk "D" erscheint, aber vor "C" liegt. In meinen VM erzeugt VISTA keine Startpartition (ESP) und benötigt sie auch nicht. Der Laie staunt, der Fachmann wundert sich.

Ich habe die autounattend.xml nochmals angepasst und bei mir in einer Hyper-V VM getestet. Jetzt wird Vista ohne die zweite Partition angelegt.
Darüberhinaus ist noch eine Funktion InstallFrom hinzugekommen. Spielt zwar bei der vorliegenden Vista keine Rolle, da nur ein ImageIndex vorhanden ist. Sollte es aber mal zu einer Vista mit anderen Editionen kommen, so kann man hier leicht den Index anpassen.
