Although Portable Registrator works perfectly on win10, the only thing that is a little bit imperfect is on win11.
Because Microsoft changed the default application associated with win11 on the policy, in the creation of the associated format needs a set of hash value as a check digit, if there is no hash value, the software can not be automatically associated with the format, can only be associated with a format manually, so it is a little inconvenient.
In order to realize batch correlation, I collected several tools related to correlation format on the Internet, I would like to make some suggestions for you after experiencing these applications.
I found the tool SetUserFTA, which is currently the only app that can implement bulk associations on win11, and it will mimic the system to create hashes automatically. This is its official website, https://setuserfta.com.
Its use is also very simple, you only need to associate the format of the software and the corresponding progid written together in parallel, for example: .avif, XnViewMP.avif
Then save it as a txt file, drag the txt file to its main program, and you can realize the batch association.
I think you should need it very much, I hope you can add an option in the application window again, so that users can manually select their system version, if it is win11 system, after checking the option, call SetUserFTA to batch association after batch creation of progid. This would eliminate the need for users to go back to the setup options to manually associate formats.
I also hope you can add a batch icon setting function, for example, in the main program folder preset an icon icon folder, which can store various formats of icons, when adding progid can automatically retrieve the relevant icon from the icon folder to set as the default icon, so it is also very convenient for users to identify the format of different files.
