Das Major-Release bringt nicht nur eine neue technische Basis auf Debian 13 \u201eTrixie\u201c, sondern auch mehrere entscheidende Neuerungen, die speziell f\u00fcr Administratoren mittlerer bis gro\u00dfer Infrastrukturen von Bedeutung sind.<\/p>\n

Umstieg auf Debian 13 und Kernel 6.14<\/h2>\n

Mit dem Release erfolgt der Wechsel auf die neueste stabile Debian-Version, erg\u00e4nzt um einen aktuellen Linux-Kernel in Version 6.14. Dadurch verbessert sich nicht nur die Unterst\u00fctzung aktueller Hardware, sondern auch die Grundlage f\u00fcr k\u00fcnftige Sicherheits- und Funktionsupdates wird robuster. Enthalten ist auch ZFS 2.3.3, womit das System f\u00fcr moderne Speicherkonzepte ger\u00fcstet ist.<\/p>\n

Native Unterst\u00fctzung f\u00fcr S3-kompatiblen Objektspeicher<\/h2>\n

Erstmals kann Proxmox Backup Server direkt mit Objektspeichern kommunizieren, die die S3-API unterst\u00fctzen. Damit lassen sich neben Amazon S3 auch Dienste wie Wasabi, MinIO oder andere kompatible Cloudl\u00f6sungen anbinden. Die Sicherungsdaten werden auf Wunsch lokal zwischengespeichert, um API-Zugriffe zu reduzieren und Kosten in Public-Cloud-Umgebungen zu senken. Selbst bei Ausfall des Backup-Servers bleiben die Daten im Objektspeicher erhalten und sind im Ernstfall rekonstruierbar \u2013 ein Pluspunkt in Sachen Ausfallsicherheit.<\/p>\n

Automatisierte Synchronisierung bei Wechselmedien<\/h2>\n

F\u00fcr den Offline-Transport von Backups \u2013 etwa mit USB-Laufwerken \u2013 wurde eine Automatisierung eingef\u00fchrt: Sync-Jobs lassen sich nun so konfigurieren, dass sie automatisch starten, sobald ein entsprechender Datastore eingeh\u00e4ngt wird. Proxmox spricht hier vom sogenannten \u201erun-on-mount\u201c-Flag, das in der Praxis vor allem kleinere Installationen entlastet und Bedienfehler vermeiden hilft.<\/p>\n

RAIDZ erweitern ohne Stillstand<\/h2>\n

Mit ZFS 2.3.3 erh\u00e4lt auch das Live-Resize-Feature f\u00fcr RAIDZ-Pools Einzug. Die Konfiguration erfolgt direkt in der grafischen Oberfl\u00e4che, Backups lassen sich mit wenigen Klicks einrichten und verwalten.
